A popular Chinese pastor was sentenced to death for preaching in North Korea. The pastor who was involved in feeding and providing shelter to thousands was said to have preached to more than 1,000.
The pastor, who was assassinated in the year 2016 was said to have been in the most wanted list since 2013 in Pyongyang for sharing the gospel.
The gospel minister preached with passion to everyone around him and provided clothing, foods and comfort to his converts who in turn are useful to preaching the gospel to their family members in North Korea.
Soldiers and prostitutes were among the people he helped after planting a church near a North Korean border.
Testifying about the pastor’s exploits, Sang-chul, a witness who benefited from pastor Han’s help shared his story in a short documentary from the Voice of the Martyrs.
The North Korean said pastor Han helped him when he was jobless and without food. Sang-chul ran into Han when he stuck across the mountain border into China picking mushrooms along the way to sell in market. During the encounter, Han offered to help him sell them, which did without cheating him.
Sang-chul said, Han, who was a Chinese decided to help him despite the danger.
“Pastor Han gave his life but he gave hope to me and to many other North Koreans. And despite the ever-present danger, many of us will continue to share the message that God is real.” Said Sang-chul.
The North Korean Christian concludes: “We have hope that our sacrifice will be worthwhile when the time comes just like it was for pastor Han.”
